About Dr. Pendleton
Dr. Julie Pendleton is a Naturopathic Physician licensed in the
state of Oregon. She received her Doctorate of Naturopathic
Medicine from Bastyr University, the leading accredited
institution for the study of natural medicine, located in
Seattle, WA. After four years of science-based training in
holistic health care, Dr. Pendleton traveled and studied
throughout South East Asia. In Southern India, she completed an
intensive study in Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India.
In 2002, Dr. Pendleton moved to Portland to work with Dr. Sierra
Levy, ND, and a year later she set up her own private practice
in the Northwest area of Portland. Dr. Pendleton also currently volunteers her services at the Mercy & Wisdom Healing Center, a non-profit community clinic in downtown Portland.
Dr. Pendleton's philosophy on healing is framed by the concept of
the “Triad of Health,” a term coined by chiropractor George Goodheart in 1960’s. The concept of the triad is meant to
highlight the importance of considering health in terms of the
body’s structural integrity, chemical integrity (affected by the
nutritional status and presence of toxins), and the
psychological (mental, emotional or behavioral) experience of an
individual. Dr. Pendleton works with each as she treats
patients.
